Anti-Bullying Week is right around the corner, and this year’s theme is “Choose Respect” 🫡 When disputes arise among children, insults and rudeness can sometimes follow 🤬 and it’s vital for us to show them a better way. https://t.co/SyhZ7WqGQLhttps://t.co/1wUFOQzaow pic.twitter.com/BfnWqhegPz

Art & Design and Design Technology

Art and Design

Children see before they speak, make marks before they write, build before they walk but the children’s ability to appreciate and interpret these things is influenced by the quality of their art, craft and design education. That is why Art and Design has been integrated into our creative curriculum so that we can teach it to a high standard. All of the artwork that the children will create is linked to the different books that they will be reading in each topic. The children will gain various skills by being exposed to different art media throughout the school e.g. printing, sculpture, painting, weaving, drawing and collage. The curriculum has been revised so that it is be fully inclusive of all of the changes in the new National Curriculum.

Design Technology

Design and Technology is an inspiring, rigorous and practical subject. Using creativity and imagination, our pupils at Harris Primary Academy Kent House design and make products that solve real and relevant problems within a variety of contexts, considering their own and others’ needs, wants and values. The Design and Technology curriculum has been updated to make sure that it follows the new National Curriculum so that the new skills are covered.
